A high level of care, commitment and warmth

I have a lot of experience of care homes gained from my professional working life as a social worker and also on a personal level when choosing care homes for my clients and, more recently, for my mother in law. I feel that in Inglewood there is a high level of care, commitment and warmth shown by the staff. This is evident in the way they treat the residents and relatives. I would have no hesitation in recommending Inglewood.

Homely and Warm Feeling - 'Nothing too Much Trouble'

Our Mum spent her last year in Inglewood Care Home. We looked at several places but on our first visit we felt the homely warm feeling that the staff offered. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so kind and loving to our Mum. The staff are absolutely brilliant and they are so caring. Mum passed away and we miss her terribly but we know that she was very well cared for and loved by everyone . As a family we want to say a massive Thank You ! Breda and Helen.

Friendly and efficient staff

Inglewood, this victorian mansion set in a country lane is charming. But more than this the comfort of the accommodation, the excellent meals , and above all the friendly and efficient staff have already brought about a distinct improvement in my wifes wellbeing despite the vascular dementia from which she suffers.

I had all but settled on a custom built care home when I was introduced to Inglewood by Stockport age settlement service. I shall always be thankful for this.

Best of all was the knowledge that Mum was safe and well cared for...

Dear Lynne
My mum was 94 and living happily and independently in her own home. Overnight she developed a chest infection, was hospitalised  and developed dementia.
This was a truly awful time for all our family and particularly for Mum.
However, from the moment I contacted Inglewood we were treated with care and support by all the staff. Mum, who had never wanted to go into a home, was welcomed and supported by the staff. She relaxed, recovered from her stay in hospital and never wanted to leave Inglewood. It was her home. Mum lived there for three and a half years. Throughout that time she received loving care from all the staff. I was able to visit her at any time, take meals with her if required, and was always made most welcome. I had no complaints to make ever and simple requests were responded to immediately. Best of all was the knowledge that Mum was safe and well cared for. She had a fear of going back into hospital. I remain eternally grateful for the support offered by Inglewood to enable Mum to stay there until her peaceful death in her own room with her family present.

The perfect place for my mother

Can I just relate why we chose Inglewood for Mother? We went to ten, maybe twelve Care Homes during the selection. Most of them were large, purpose built, red brick complexes. In the end the character and personal touch at Inglewood made it the perfect place for my Mother. She was always a little shy, and so the size of the Home - about twenty residents - along with the small number of long serving locally based staff mean that my Mother is being cared for personally by people local to Disley, who have a deep understanding of the needs of elderly and frail people. Their warmth and friendliness has made all the difference to her. I would recommend Inglewood to anybody without reservation.

Warmest wishes

Home away from home

Finding a residential nursing home that speaks to your care-taking visions is no easy feat, so, when I met Lynne Barton (proprietor) and Inglewood Residential Nursing Home, I was surprised how quickly I new this was the home I wanted for my mother! Lynne (who lives on the premises with her husband, Jim) is knowledgeable and welcoming. Her friendly professional approach is shared by her loyal staff.

The home is small and intimate, explaining that " Home Away From Home" feeling. The carers know the residents well and personalize their care with respect for each individual residents needs. For me it was so important to connect with the carers and get to know them (I live overseas) so when I call, I know who I am talking to and I get updates on my mother's world from someone I have confidence in and know personally. I have complete confidence in the quality of my mother's life at Inglwood. She is safe and has the dignity she deserves and I have peace-of-mind knowing my mother has the best care available. Thank you Inglewood for taking such good care of my precious mother - Inglewood is Home Away - From - Home, for us both!!

The most important value at Inglewood is definitely the well-being of the residents, however, they still consider the living environment too and most recently have added a fabulous new Conservatory which offers the residents a bright and sunny alternative to the rest of this beautiful traditional Victorian home. For sure you feel part of a family as soon as you enter the world of Inglewood!

Lucky us.......
