Inglewood Care Home

Our rooms

Inglewood Residential Care Home offers a range of private bedrooms, each with a pleasant outlook and individual character in the form of period features, bay windows or skylights; and all with a relaxed and welcoming design which feels like a home. The extension and development of the original home incorporated ten newer single bedrooms, two with fully appointed shower rooms and eight with en-suite toilet and wash basin. Two of our rooms have private access via an external door. Four of our rooms offer doors to the garden or terrace. Unusually, we do have one double room en-suite for a couple, in addition to our single rooms; the majority with en-suite and some with access to the garden. Every room has a staff call system.

Communal areas

The development of Inglewood has allowed us to offer additional communal areas and shower rooms. An 8-person passenger lift has been installed providing easy access to the lower, ground and first floors. The construction of a large exterior deck area and conservatory in addition to an interior courtyard provide additional public areas.

There are two main lounges in the original part of the building with fabulous Victorian features. The first lounge is tranquil and light, with soft music playing in the background. Some of our residents like to colour or read in this room. This lounge has an impressive light filled conservatory dining area that looks out over the garden and the veranda. The second lounge is more of a community lounge where residents go to have a chat, watch television or listen to music. This lounge is where most of the activities take place, perhaps crosswords, bowls, seated Zumba or dominoes.

Our third lounge is in the newer part of the house and also offers views to the gardens. It is ideal to take afternoon tea or perhaps enjoy a meal with family or friends. There is a large projector screen in there were films can be shown. This room also offers privacy for confidential discussion. In addition, there is a pleasant internal courtyard area with seating and glazed roof. All laundry is done in house.

Outdoor Areas

We have a large outdoor garden area that is secured and gated. There are four huge raised bedded areas and an area to grow vegetables. Residents can garden their own patch should they wish. We have a covered pergola for shade and shelter from the elements. The bedding plants are bought from a local Scouts group supporting the local community. Seasonal events are planned, the garden is dressed with decorations and activities and events will be held outside, weather permitting. We are delighted each year with the bountiful hanging baskets and pots of flowers delivered from Oak Nurseries near Wilmslow. The garden is a fantastic area that the residents love sitting out in during the warm weather and where we often have afternoon teas with a crossword or quiz.

Nutrition

Offering delicious and enjoyable food and drink has always been a priority at Inglewood. Our cooks produce fresh, nutritious meals with fresh, quality produce which are visually appealing and colourful. This encourages residents to maintain good nutrition and participate in the very social activity of enjoying food. The menus follow the seasons, and this is reflected in the choices that are on offer throughout the year. Menus are discussed and decided in a bi-monthly meeting with residents to establish their suggestions to be added that to the seasonal menu. The produce is sourced locally wherever possible, our local butchers, Littlewoods in Marple, are committed to locally farmed, quality meat. Fruit and vegetables are from Cheshire Wholesale. We consistently achieve a 5 star rating from the Food Standards Agency.
